Amazon is all set to launch the world’s first flying indoor security camera with Ring’s “Always Home” cam, which is supposed to act as a drone-like device to tackle security breaches inside houses.
The idea of the mini product was first shown as a concept device in its prototype stage back at the end of 2020.
Meanwhile, apart from capturing videos, the mini indoor drone camera can also zoom in on certain areas if it senses triggers around the house.
Although its functions are similar to those of a drone, its appearance is vastly different. It almost looks like a flying “T.”
Moreover, the movement of the Ring Always Home camera cannot be controlled. It must have an already-set path from its charging point to a specific part of the house.
Accordingly, the camera moves back and forth from the already determined position.
The Ring’s founder, Simenoff, said it would cost $249.99. Yet, “if it were a $2,000 product, we could put the sensors on it today, and it would be fine,” he noted while displaying the product at the Consumer Electronics Show.
Furthermore, the cost of the product is to be kept low before launching it in the market in order for it to secure a household place. Till now, the exact date of the launch of the product has not been determined, but it is predicted to be launched by next year.
