The four passengers on the ill-fated Yeti Airlines plane that crashed in Pokhara in Nepal on Sunday were live on Facebook to share their experience on the flight, minutes before the aircraft went down.
As per reports, all four passengers were from Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh. In the 1.3-minute live video on Facebook, one of them can be seen excitedly shouting “Mauj Kar Di” (it’s been fun) as the camera focuses on Pokhara town below.
Sonu Jaiswal had been happily recording his Yeti Airlines flight experience on a Facebook live video with three of his companions, showing scenes inside the plane and outside its window. Their excitement soon turned to horror as the plane crashed.
The video, which is making the rounds of social media, opens with shots of passengers sitting inside the plane. Suddenly there is an explosion and the screen goes topsy-turvy. The final few seconds show a horrifying fire outside the window and cries of distraught passengers can be heard.
The Yeti Airlines ATR 72 aircraft was carrying 72 people — including five Indians — when it crashed in Pokhara around 11 am on Sunday. At least 68 people have been declared dead in the incident, while the search is underway for the missing four persons.
Meanwhile, videos and pictures on social media showed smoke billowing from the crash site and hundreds of rescue workers along the sides of a gorge where the plane went down.
