️HISTORIC: The world’s ‘Longest River Cruise’ in India flagged off from Varanasi to Dibrugarh. This ‘historic’ River Cruise will cover 3,200 km and 50 Tourist Spots in 51 days.
The 62.5 meters long and 12.8 meters-wide cruise is having 18 luxury suits and is said to be equipped with a pollution-free system and noise control technology.


Besides this, MV Ganga Vilas is the first cruise vessel to be ‘Made-in-India’.
The 36 tourists from Switzerland, who will take the first journey, were welcomed at the Varanasi port with garlands and tunes of shehnai.
Assam CM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Union Minister, Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Ayush – Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister of State Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Tourism – Shripad Naik was also present.



The voyage is packed with visits to 50 tourist spots, including World Heritage spots, national parks, river ghats, and major cities like Patna in Bihar, Sahibganj in Jharkhand, Kolkata in West Bengal, Dhaka in Bangladesh and Guwahati in Assam.
The cruise will begin its journey from the famous ‘Ganga Aarti’ in Varanasi and cover Sarnath, a place of great reverence for Buddhism; Mayong, known for its ‘tantric’ craft; and Majuli, the largest river island in the world and hub of Vaishnavite in Assam.
