The leadership of the Indian National Congress (INC) took a jibe at AIUDF Supremo Badruddin Ajmal for his derogatory remarks on the former’s leadership of both states and the Centre.
Issuing a statement, AICC General Secretary Jairam Ramesh clarified that Ajmal’s statement has nothing to do with the doings of UPA.

Jairam Ramesh stated Ajmal’s statement as ‘the most unacceptable and bogus’, also it as blatantly defamatory.
Jairam Ramesh called Ajmal the ‘mouthpiece’ of BJP and Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma and that the ‘two worked out a relationship between themselves with the sole purpose of maligning and defaming the Congress and its leadership.’
Jairam Ramesh says Ajmal is part of the BJP’s attempt to defame Congress after the ‘extraordinary’ success of the Bharat Jodo Yatra by Rahul Gandhi.
“Ajmal is nothing but a mouthpiece for BJP like some other parties like the AIMIM,” Jairam Ramesh stated.
It was clearly stated that Ajmal’s AIUDF unlike the last elections are not part of an alliance or the UPA.
